How it Works

So, you want professional quality music available at your event but don't want to pay for a DJ?  Look no further than You DJ Iowa.  We are a DJ equipment rental company that serves the Cedar Rapids Iowa area.

The Basics

You DJ Iowa was started by a couple of successful DJ's who understand the in's and out's of how to play music at different events.  We have taken that knowledge and extended that into the sound and music system that you rent.  For $199 you get everything you need to DJ your own event!  All rentals are for the full set of equipment and are for 24 hours.

The Music

Included in the rental is an Apple iPod Touch with the Billboard Top 100 songs from every year 1950 to the present and spans most of the mainstream radio genre's (Pop, Hip-Hop, Rap, Rock, Country, Dance, etc).  Professional playlist have been created by the DJ's who run You DJ Iowa, so no matter what type of event you are having there should be a playlist ready for you to build your event around.  With the iPod Genius feature, you could even create your own playlist after selecting a few songs that you want to hear that night!

The Equipment

Two self-power speakers are included, as well as a sound mixer and a high quality microphone.  There is an extra 1/8" (standard headphone) jack available just in case you want to hook your own iPod or laptop directly into the mixer.  This equipment should provide enough sound for crowds all the way up to 300+ people, depending upon the event.  

A small table and one 15amp grounded electrical outlet within 25' of the equipment is required.

Pickup and Delivery

If you are picking up the equipment the price is $199 for 24 hours and we will setup a time and place where you can pickup the equipment.  We will meet to drop it off ~24 hours later unless other arrangements were made previously.  The equipment being used is professional grade, so make sure that the vehicle transporting the equipment is large enough. 

If you choose the delivery option, the price is $249 for 24 hours, any distance outside of the Cedar Rapids or Des Moines metro areas will be charged $1.50/mile extra for travel. Please call for an exact quote on extra delivery cost.

Reservations

We gladly take reservations prior to the day of your event, but they are not required.  Keep in mind that during the busy season the equipment could be rented, so be sure to call early.  All reservations are based on a first-come, first-served basis.  Upon making the reservation, a $100 non-refundable deposit will be required, with the remaining balance being due upon pickup or delivery of the equipment.
